Solidarity with Kurdish Women in Turkey
Report from a Peace in Kurdistan Campaign event in the House of Commons on 30.01.06. The focus for the meeting was the situation for Kurdish women in Turkey and how the EU accession process might offer them a chance for a brighter future. Several EUTCC advisers were speakers at the event, including EUTCC board member Sehnaz Turan who was one of the main speakers.

The Second International Conference on EU Turkey and the Kurds was held in the European Parliament on 19-20 September 2005. The Conference passed a final resolution.

By hosting a second international conference on EU Turkey and the Kurds, the EUTCC wishes to provide another democratic platform and contribute to the ongoing dialogue between the EU and Turkey. The conference will bring together non-governmental organisations, members of the European Parliament, Turkish, Kurdish and European politicians, academics and writers, focusing especially on human rights, democratic reform and the situation for the Kurds.

First International Conference on EU Turkey and the Kurds - 2004 Final Resolution
The conference assessed human rights concerns in Turkey including judicial, democratic and parliamentary reform; culture and language rights; freedom of expression; and the rights of internally displaced persons to return to their villages and to compensation. A special focus was put on the relationship between Turkey and the Kurds, and its implication on Turkey´s bid for EU membership.

The Third International Conference on EU Turkey and the Kurds will be held in the European Parliament in Brussels, 16-17 October 2006.
