Van der Linden warns against free speech dilemma

A senior official of the Council of Europe pressed Turkey to change the infamous Article 301 in its penal code, telling top government leaders that the Turkish criticism of a French bill criminalizing denial of the alleged genocide of Armenians at the hands of the Ottoman Empire could raise skepticism while it still restricts free expression of differing views on the issue.
